The steps below are shortened from the Vauxhall TIS pages for the Speedster. The VX220 shares the same engines and most of the car, but check anything unusual against your own car. The TIS pictures and the full wording aren't reproduced, so use the workshop manual if you are doing the job. We haven't seen owners' accounts of this job, so there are no owner tips here.

Parking lamp: bulb
The TIS steps are the same for the Turbo and the NA.
Remove
- Open front bonnet for access to nut at rear of front lamp assembly.
- Front lamp assembly from front clam shell – nut, washer, bracket and harness connector.
- Do not disturb splash shield (if installed).
- Trim cover from front lamp assembly – screws,
- Bulb and holder from parking lamp.
- Bulb from holder.
Install
- Bulb to holder.
- Bulb and holder to parking lamp.
- Trim cover to front lamp assembly – screws.
- Front lamp assembly to front clam shell – harness connector, bracket, washer and nut.
- Ensure that splash shield is not disturbed (if installed).
Parking lamp: lamp removal
The TIS steps are the same for the Turbo and the NA.
Remove
- Open front bonnet for access to nut at rear of front lamp assembly.
- Front lamp assembly from front clam shell – nut, washer, bracket and harness connector.
- Do not disturb splash shield (if installed).
- Trim cover from front lamp assembly – screws.
- Harness connector from bulb.
- Parking lamp from front lamp assembly.
Install
- Parking lamp to front lamp assembly.
- Harness connector to bulb.
- Trim cover to front lamp assembly – screws.
- Front lamp assembly to front clam shell – harness connector, bracket, washer and nut.
- Ensure that splash shield is not disturbed (if installed).
Number plate lamp: bulb
The TIS steps are the same for the Turbo and the NA.
Install
- License plate lamp from rear clam shell – screws.
- Festoon bulb from license plate lamp.
- Festoon bulb to license plate lamp.
- License plate lamp to rear clam shell – screws.
Number plate lamp: lamp removal

Install
- License plate lamp from rear clam shell – screws.
- Harness from license plate lamp.
- Harness to license plate lamp.
- License plate lamp to rear clam shell – screws.
Interior lamp: bulb
The TIS steps are the same for the Turbo and the NA.
Install
- Interior lamp from instrument panel – push the lamp at the switch end in the direction of the arrow against spring to release lamp body from panel, then pivot lamp to remove.
- Bulb from lamp.
- Bulb to lamp.
- Interior lamp from instrument panel – place lamp into panel opening with spring end first then pivot into position.
Interior lamp: lamp removal

Install

- Harness connections from lamp.
- Harness connections to lamp.

Cigarette lighter: bulb

Install
- Rear section of console assembly from body, see "Console, Remove and Install".
- Lamp holder from cigarette lighter.
- Bulb fro lamp holder.
- Bulb to lamp holder.
- Lamp holder to cigarette lighter.
- Rear console assembly to body.
